Thanks for sharing this Derek! I know that I am not alone :) Although we're on different paths back then but the scenario is the same.

I remember back then that I've decided to quit my job (being a customer service rep) and be my own boss. :)

Thanks for taking me down memory lane. I also left an IT job with the state to pursue the "Freedom" of becoming an entrepreneur about the same time. Was wonderfully liberating for about 6 months, until my friend and business partner decided that not having an unlimited expense budget and credit card to go along with it was a deal breaker for him. Friends and business... It's all been said before. But how many times do you have to explain that in a two person company the expenses come out of both of your pockets.
Was a learning experience nonetheless, looking forward to Chapter 2.
Thanks for sharing

I read your 1st Chapter and I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to Chapter 2. Can't wait!
When I started out (too many years ago) I jumped in head first and had so much going on at the same time, that I got information overload and totally confused. I finally got focused on one thing at a time and it"s all making since too me.I'm going forward big time and enjoying every minute of it.
Best Wishes,
Rosalyn Loxley

In reply to <a href="https://searchstacks.com/all-alone/#comment-354">Steve H</a>.

Thanks Steve. I appreciate the kind words...

One thing that has helped me that seems extremely simple is to focus on doing all you can every day. Sometimes we get overwhelmed when we see the big picture or a big project - but when I scale back and say - what can I do today and today only - And what can I do to bring money in right now - magical things start to happen.

Can you work your ass off for one day? You bet. It's when you start looking at 30-60 days down the road - we began to feel overwhelmed and the projects start to lag.

Hi Derek!

I love chapter one. I'm where you were, although the circumstances are a little different. I've been in corporate IT for more years than I care to admit. Over the last 1 1/2 years my position has either been eliminated or outsourced 3 times! With the most recent being this last Tuesday 2/12/13.

I am so sick and tired of the corporate rat-race and all the things you describe. I've been screwing around with Internet Marketing since 2006, but didn't get really serious about wanting to make it my future until about 1 1/2 years ago when this who job rollercoaster started.

I had a lot of unfinished IM preojects going on that were taking me forever to implement having a full time J-O-B, until now. I've decided screw IT! I'm ready to jump head first into the deep end of the IM pool and have the, "gun to the head", making this IM thing work or be homeless. So wish me luck, but failure is NOT an option.

Regards,

Every entrepreneur goes through that :) It's a mindset. When we communicate it does help those who love us to "get it". But I admire you and I"m glad you launched out. I love nothing more then to hear that people went for it. Good for you!
