How to Use OPM for Traffic

You’ve heard the phrase ‘OPM’?

OPM= Other People’s Money

It’s the concept of being able to leverage other people’s assets.

Picture this…

You’ve just found a smokin’ hot deal on a 2 story, brick home.

Let’s say the homeowner is needing to make a quick deal and get out of town.

The dude is facing litigation and wants out pronto.

Home is valued at $500,000.

This guy says if you can close in a week, he’ll take half of what the value is.

You’re able to get into this deal for only $250,000

One big problemo.

You don’t have $250K.

So, you call up someone that you know has got the cash bring ‘em in as a partner for a piece of the deal.

This is one of the simplest ways to Leverage Other People’s Money.

Well, Google is the same way.

And that’s what we do every single day here in DP’s world.

Except we leverage Other People’s Links

How do we do that?

Well, think about this.

Every time I buy an aged or expired domain – what am I doing?

I’m leveraging other people’s work and using it for my own stuff.

I’m leveraging what other people have done before me.

What about blog comments?

Here you can leverage by commenting on other people’s blogs with a link back to your site.

Not only are you gaining a link but you’re also gaining exposure from their readers (that is if you use intelligent comments and not just blasting away).

What about web 2.0 sites?

Here we’ll leverage these web 2’s to get links and shares building authority links to our post, pages, and videos.

Because these web2’s already have existing authority built in.

Let me ask you this…

What if there was a way you could leverage all of these web 2’s, social accounts – but from other people?

Other People’s Facebook accounts
Other People’s Twitter accounts
Other People’s Web 2’s
Other People’s blogs

It would make everything a whole lot easier – right?

The Step By Step Guide to Making Money From SEO Without Any Rankings

Wait a minute...

Without ranking? How's that even possible?

Read on amigo and I'll lay it out for you step by step...

For starters, I’ve found that people who look to make money online or build a business through SEO will build these hurdles in their mind to jump through before they give themselves permission to make money online.

For example, these are common statements I’ll hear…

“I just need to get this site ranked as proof”

“When I do XYZ, then I’ll start making money”

“I’m hoping this site ranks for these terms and then I’ll see some traffic”

Once I spoke with a guy that had been at this for 18 months and had never made a dime.

Here’s the kicker…

I asked him what he’d done to get an idea about where he was at and this is what he said…

“I’ve bought XYZ training and boy it’s good.”

“I went to ole’ XYZ’s mastermind and you should consider joining too”

Where’s the work in those two statements?

You see this happen often with what I call the Professional Student.

They go to college, get a degree.

Then, we need more education before we get a job.

They go back to get a masters.

After that, they now need a doctorate.

The cycle goes on for years.

And for the record, I’m not knocking getting educated and learning new skills.

Where I see an issue is when people have skill sets that others are willing to pay for going untapped.

While they struggle, hoping to make ends meet, there’s an opportunity right in front of them.

That’s what I’m hoping this will serve as today.

This guide will show you a way to start making money online today.

Without waiting on rankings…

As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to rank, build a list, or create some complex sales funnel.

You can do this all while building your rankings or getting clients simultaneously.

Where's this opportunity For SEO?

First, let’s backup just a for a second…

Right now, there’s a huge demand for valuable PBN domains.

It’s the go to strategy for myself as well as many others and it’s been the only consistent method for getting rankings in Google.

Domains that have existing links from authority sites like Wikipedia, Forbes, and Huffington to name a few have value.

If you know what you’re doing, then you can find valuable domains super cheap.

Which presents the first way you can make money starting right now from this SEO gig.

These domains can be picked up for the regular price of registration – $10 a domain.

So, far so good – right?

Here's Opportunity # 1

If these domains have good metrics and we’ll cover that soon enough…

People are willing to pay $30 – $50 per domain.

Let’s suppose you pick up 10 different $10 domains (that’s $100 for you math majors – 10 X $10)

And sell them on the lower end, let’s say $30 per domain. (10 X $30 = $300)

Not bad huh?

How many of you starting this online gig and thought – if I could only make an extra $200-$300 per month?

One order of 10 domains would do that.

You don’t need to design anything, come up with content, or hope for a top ranking.

You buy the domain, sell it, then transfer it.

Easy.

Find the Hungry Audience

I can hear the “yeah but” already starting..

“Yeah but DP I don’t know anyone that would buy them?”

There’s super hungry audiences in the same places you’re probably hanging out.

Where are people hanging out?

Where are there already people conducting business?

How to Make More Per Order & Earn Recurring Income

Now this next part is totally optional if you like to make more money…

See, a percentage would rather pay you just to set everything up for them.

That’s where you add the famous Mickey D’s phrase “Would you like to super size your order?”

And offer to include the setup, design, first article and social accounts link together.

Instead of charging $30- $50 per domain though, you’re now charging $100- $150.

“Yeah buts” is back..

“Yeah but, Derek-I don’t want to set everything up. I’m tired already and just want money.”

You’re not going to be setting up a thing.

That’s where you head on over to Fiverr and hire someone to do this shiz for you.

I found a gig for setting up social accounts for $5

Another for installing and customizing WordPress for $5 – $10

So, now you’re in at $25- $30 per domain that you’re selling for $100 – $150 per domain.

That means instead of making $30-$40 per domain, you’re now making $75 – $125 per domain you sell.

Make sense?

And you can even add a hosting option in there as well if you want to get some rebills kicked in to add continuity to your program.

Option # 2: Sell Links From Your Domains

Instead of selling these domains, start selling links off the domains you buy.

These can be a PBN blasts or drop a link in the sidebar.

It’s not hard to do and most importantly you’ll get to keep the domains you bought.

Links go for $3-$5 per link on average.

And…

If the domains are really strong, often you can sell the links for a monthly fee.

Here's where this gets good...

All of these people that are buying your SEO services also buy other stuff.

They buy training programs, other services, and even more domains or links.

So, it’s like you’re getting paid to build your own list.

All you’re doing is siphoning traffic from these communities and getting paid to do it.

Is it that easy?

To start with, you may offer some at lower costs to get your reputation built up in these communities.

Bottom line is knowing what to look for and how to find these domains at reasonable prices.

Here's the Entire Process to Profiting from SEO even if you're starting out

Find Domains that have good quality links that are spam free with solid metrics
Sell domains on popular SEO service sites
Sell links on popular SEO service sites
Make a list of buyers
Offer them more stuff
Do this while you build your own SEO projects

How Your Email List Can Help You Rank Your Websites And Videos

When consulting entrepreneurs and local businesses about their SEO, most immediately want the overnight, quick fix linking ninja trick.

But many are surprised to hear when I ask the question – “Have you built a list?”

“A list – what’s that got to do with SEO? “ you ask…

It can actually be more valuable that you think.

Let me explain.

It’s a known fact that Google monitors time on site, the Watch Time for your videos, and the overall experience.

I've seen it in my own tests.

While I'm not buying its the sole ranking factor or the top ranking factor, I will agree it plays a big roll.

In my experience, backlinks matter now more than ever.

However, often overlooked, are time on site, readership, and watch times.

These now play a role into ranking and is a major factor in the ranking algorithm whether you like it or not.

Think About This..

What if Google sent you traffic to your videos and users bounce as soon as they start watching the video?

Chances are the videos are not going to stay at the top for long, because Google is wanting to enhance the user experience.

We’ve all seen the spammy video, hit it with a ton of links and rank, but in a couple of days the videos typically tank..

So, here’s what do…

Step 1. Create a video that’s engaging. While your videos can be very simple, don’t expect a lot from videos pieced together with no real clear message or engagement.

The videos that have just images and some background noise aren’t going to convert so start to work on making them more engaging.

Step 2. Embed your video on your blog and write an article. This can be a short ‘How to Article’ or Advice that you’re giving that compliments the video .

Link to your article or website in the description.

These are good, safe, authority links.

Google likes to see videos embedded, and links sent to video. This is one of the ways they track how popular a video is and it also helps to rank in both Youtube and Google.

Step 3. Send an email to your customer list to your blog post to read your article and watch your video.

And encourage them to share the post or video.

The reason this works is because these are your fans.

These are your people that want to see your stuff and will help to increase your views.

Step 4. Drop The Links. Finally, drive links to both your video and your blog post.

I recommend using PBN links with Rank Gold (there’s nothing more powerful and reliable than a Private Blog Network) to link to your blog (money site) and embed your videos.

We can also use automated tools like GSA to link to your videos. And we can be more aggressive with the linking to Youtube videos.

The reason we do this is to help rank multiple properties or multiple assets.

This helps to get both – the Youtube and our Blog Post ranked!

This is increasing our likelihood of ranking simply because we have multiple properties.

Now, the question becomes…

What if you don’t have an email or customer list?

If not, start building one right away.

You can use this type of content to not only give good, solid content with videos, but think about all the ways you can use it.

Be sure to plug in a retargeting campaign for your customers and follow up with them so they see you everywhere.

The Dirt On Guest Posting

I contacted a company that will guarantee your posts to be published on the likes of LifeHack, Forbes and many others.

My first email to the company was on June 2, 2015.

They replied next day with a price list of all the sites they could create my article on.

I immediately replied with my order the same day (June 3^rd)

Now, here’s where this gets good…

I wait.

And I wait.

And I wait some more.

And Finally!

You can see the article doesn’t go live until August 12^th, 2015!!

That’s over 2 months to get an article approved!

Now, imagine just for a moment..

Search Click and Engage Without Expensive Software

One of the popular topics the last year with SEO has been around the idea of Crowd Sourcing.

In a nutshell, it's the idea of increasing your clicks and engagement to your website in an effort to boost Search Results.

So, you'd hire people to search for your keywords, then find your website, click on it and browse for a few minutes to increase the time on site and click through.

Now, just to be straight with you -I've used this technique for the last 2 – 3 years with mixed results…

Some sites increased after I employed this method, while others did nothing.

And now, there's a lot of software that supposedly does this for you.

In the video below, I'll show you a way to do this for a fraction of the cost of any software and get real human eyeballs instead of relying on software.

Also, you can use this same method to get real views, likes, and comments to your Youtube videos.

So here are the steps…

Setup the campaign at MicroWorkers
Be specific with your instructions and tell them to click on your website
Tell them where to click through and list the first word on the clicked through page for confirmation or use a delayed popup with a code – this will keep them on your page for longer which increasing the time on site metrics.
Release funds on completion of task.

The one thing I'd keep in mind is your search volume to make sure everything looks natural.

So say the estimated searches is 500 per month.

It would be silly to send 5000 clicks to this – it just doesn't look natural.

Black, White, Gray – Which Hat Do You Wear?

I was on a webinar where I was promoting another speaker's product as an affiliate that is super reputable in the space and here's exactly what he said…

“This is completely white hat. And I've NEVER been hit with an update.”

My stomach rolled.

I wanted to crawl under my desk.

It wouldn't have done any good – I have a glass desk.

Anyway.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

So my options were to start a big scene on the webinar or let it play out and just get the hell off the call as soon as possible.

I chose the latter.

The webinar ended and I refused to send a replay.

I ruffled a few few feathers because of my decision to end the promotion early.

And by no means am I judging the guy.

He's not the only one doing this.

And that's not what this is about…

The promoter was simply telling people what they wanted to hear.

I had 2 issues with the statement and I'll explain a little later in the post.

But my point is –

“What does it really matter?”

Seriously, why is it a big deal if it's blackhat or whitehat?

Does the bank ask if you used White hat or Black Hat SEO before they will cash your checks?

There should only be on thing that you're concerned with providing your acting ethically and legally and that's –

RESULTS.

See, I don't make the rules and neither do you.

We're all in this together and I view ranking as a game.

You test.

Then you keep doing what's working and drop the other.

The problem I see over and over again for people trying to make it online (and I'm not talking just SEO here- this is everything)…

People are scared.

They're scared to death to fail.

They play the what if game in their minds only to end up being more confused.

With SEO, they're afraid of messing up.

Most have to know all of the information before even getting started.

And as a result, they fail to do anything at all.

I'm not preaching at you either because I've been there and been guilty of the same thing.

And, occasionally I'll find myself falling right back into that pattern and I have to have a talk with myself to quit being a puss.

Now, getting back to the presentation and the “issue” I took with what he said.

There's actually two issues.

First, the software we were promoting would be considered “Black Hat” by all accounts.

And that's ok that it's blackhat.

But don't try to cover it up and say it's completely whitehat.

Anytime, you're using attempting to game the search results or manipulate your rankings – it's considered by many to be blackhat.

Secondly, if you've never been hit with any of the updates – you're not a real SEO'r.

You're not pushing the boundaries.

You're not testing new strategies.

I'll be the first to admit that I've been penalized and even have had sites de-indexed.

Actually I had 2 sites just last week in one of the Google updates.

That's why I'm here writing this blog post and why I've had success.

I've been willing to try new strategies, and start new sites…

I've suffered a few bumps and bruises but I've kept trucking along.

Here's my outlook on the matter –

You can't lose what you don't have.

If you don't have traffic, then it's not yours to lose.

And that keeps me hungry to test new things across different sites, videos, and social properties.

Just focus on Quality Content…

You've heard that before right?

Well, chances are you've got a quality site.

You've probably put real work into it and if you've not done any off page optimization – chances are slim that you've seen any movement.

Take a look at this site where I just focused on quality content.

Over the course of the year – can you guess how many terms we were ranking for?

If you suspected – ZERO, then you're the grand prize winner.

You can see the screenshot below:

See all the NA's on the month column.

We were not showing up at all for any keywords in Bing or Google.

A couple of weeks I began a backlinking campaign and take a look at the week and day columns and…

You'll see we're actually picking up rankings.

So – one thing is for sure – don't take Google at their word.

They're not going to give you the goods…

Think about it this way…

It would be like walking up to the creator of Coke and saying – “hey – this taste great- any chance you can share that recipe?”

You know it's not going to happen.

So, enough with the hats – throw out your blackhat, get rid of whitehat and gray hat- how about we focus on Green?

As in the color of money…

Because that's what this business is all about – right?

I mean that is why you're reading this…

You want to see results.

See, I've found 4 linking strategies that are currently kicking butt and taking names – and you don't have to be “super blackhat linking ninja” either.

Not that there's anything wrong with that…

It all depends on the angle as to which one of these linking strategies work.

If you apply the wrong approach, then you can do more harm than good to your website.

See, there's no cookie cutter approach for every site that we launch.

I've condensed this down into 4 different linking strategies for you depending on what your goals are and what your overall strategy is.
